BWF Tour Finals: PV Sindhu beats Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon to reach final

Sindhu, ranked world number six, defeated the world number eight Intanon 21-16, 25-23 in a thrilling clash, which lasted for 54 minutes, to made her way through to second straight final at the season-ending event.

In the first game, 23-year-old Sindhu got off to a solid start taking an initial 6-4 lead. Intanon tried to bounced back but eventually ended up losing the first game 16-21 in 20 minutes.

  • In the second game, the Thai gave a tough fight to Sindhu, taking it to the tie-breaker but the Indian shuttler held on to her nerves and wrapped up the second game 25-23, eventually winning the contest.Interestingly, Sindhu is still unbeaten in the tournament as she won all three of her group games and even defeated the world No.1 Tai Tzu Ying on her way to the final.

    Sindhu will now face 2017 world champion Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in the summit clash on Sunday, 16 December.
