Aishwarya Thatikonda, was among the eight people who were killed in shootout at an outlet mall north of Dallas, Texas.
A 27-year-old woman from Hyderabad, identified as Aishwarya, was among the nine people killed in a mass shooting that took place at a crowded mall in Texas on May 6, 2023. The incident occurred when Aishwarya was shopping with her friends at the Allen Premium Outlets mall in Texas. The gunman opened fire, killing at least eight people before being shot dead by a police officer.
Aishwarya was the daughter of Additional District Judge Tatikonda Narsireddy, who is currently working at the Ranga Reddy District Commercial Courts complex.
Aishwarya and her friends were present at the mall when a man armed with a gun opened fire on shoppers. Aishwarya, employed as an engineer and working as a project manager at a private company in Texas, was among those caught in the attack.
Governor Greg Abbott called the shooting an “unspeakable tragedy” and stated that the state was ready to offer any assistance to local authorities.
This tragic incident is not an isolated case in the United States, as there have been at least 198 mass shootings in 2023, according to the gun violence archive. The increasing number of mass shootings in the country is a growing concern that requires immediate action to be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
